I can do much more than just don a bikini: Yana Gupta

Believe it or not but Yana Gupta has not yet seen her own latkas and jhatkas in her recent item song Laila O Laila. The item girl has better things to do, she says. Yana, who was busy with singing and writing songs and a book on nutrition before she made her comeback, says she now wants to be taken a bit more seriously. "There is much more that I can give to the industry than just being a seductress." The Czech chick, who has reportedly replaced Bipasha Basu in another item number, talks to CS: What matters I don't choose to do item numbers. I am a music lover and it's the music that turns me on. Even when I started with Babuji, I loved the song and the whole country feel that the song had. Popularity doesn't matter to me, but what matters is my work.  Even now, after I did Laila O Laila, and compliments are coming my way, I don't really know how well I've done. It's the process that matters and not the end result. And once I am convinced that I have given my 100 per cent, who cares about the outcome or what people think about me?  In a fix People say that I am going Helenji's way and that's a compliment (laughs). But personally, I feel that I can do much more than just don a bikini and add glamour to a film. I can act well and can do non-glamorous roles as well, but I am not yet taken that seriously.  A few weeks back, when I wasn't in India, I was hearing a script over the phone. I heard the entire script and enquired about my role in the film. He went silent for a while and then said that I didn't have many dialogues.  I was so angry that I just wanted to cut the call right away. But I pushed myself to behave right. I think once you get typecast, it's a tough job to break free. And you can't complain and crib all the time about it.  Write side But I don't let all this bother me much. I am still on the path of self-discovery. I can only say that I am not what I appear on screen. I am a fun-loving but also a composed person.  Every time I take a closer look at myself, I find something new within. Not many know that I sing and write songs myself. When I discovered that I could write well, I wrote a book on nutrition.  It is going to be published by a popular publishing company by this year-end. Freida does an Aamir Khan on India's Most Desirable

Freida re-did her artwork on Simi's chat show as she was not too happy and wanted it to be worthy of charity Every celebrity appearing on Simi Garewal's chat show, India's Most Desirable, has to sketch their self-portrait which is then auctioned for charity.  The celeb can choose from the various mediums given to them. These include oil paints, felt pens, crayons and water-based paints. When Freida Pinto shot for the chat show, she wasn't too happy with the painting she did. The actress later worked on the canvas again. The perfectionist Says a source, "Freida stayed back after the shoot. She wasn't happy with her work.  She lent final touches to the artwork and made sure it was perfect She wanted it to be worthy enough to be auctioned for charity and re-did it. She made sure her painting was perfect before she left for other commitments."  The Slumdog Millionaire actress floored Simi with her "stylish, gracious and warm persona". The hostess observed that the girl had achieved international stardom and yet was "humble and modest" about her roots.  Pinto's painting will be auctioned online later and the proceeds will go to a charity chosen by the celebrity.  Enjoying art Freida's spokesperson says, "She enjoyed art as a child but has had no formal art training. She used oil-based paints on canvas for the painting on Simi's show. She gave her painting additional finishing touches after the shoot on the set itself." The battle cry through music depicts the heightened level of risk in KKK 4. Through the song's lyrics and the video's look, one can get a fair idea of the kind of physically and mentally challenging tasks set for the contestants. WHEN IT AIRS: May 9 onwards. THE LOOK: The contestants are dressed in hot pants, leather jackets and boots in dark colors. To add to the clothes, they sport smoky eyes that speak of impending danger and lusciously painted lips that depict their determination to overcome those dangers. THE KHATRA: As the props used in the video included binding chains and hand cuffs that had girls restrained to walls and metal pipes trying to escape their metal clothes; most of the contestants ended up with bruises on their wrists...fitting battle scars, we say! THE MISHAPS: Poonam Pandey tripped over a piece of metal and hurt her high-heeled ankle.  Former captain of the Indian women's cricket team Anjum Chopra found herself feeling very uncomfortable in the surroundings, a challenge she had not expected to encounter. THE SURPRISES: Anjum just might turn out to be the weakest contender on the show.  But Smita Bansal, whom we are used to seeing wearing a lehenga and being a docile and submissive daughter-in-law on television, turned out to be a real tigress on the sets of the music video. At 68, Big B wants to ride this beauty!

After riding what he calls the "beast bike" for "Bbuddah - Hoga Tera Baap", megastar Amitabh Bachchan is eager to buy his own Harley Davidson.  "What is it with men and the sound of a mean machine. The roar of a speed car, the rush of air and sound in a double exhaust bike, that kick of acceleration as you push the pedal flat, that jerk of change on the Concord, when it was functional, as it went from normal to Mach 3 at 55,000 feet in the air! Is it the same with the ladies too?" Amitabh wrote on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.  "Soon after it was the adrenalin pumping beast bike, the Harley 'twixt my legs. And what a monster it is. I have to say though that having done it, and for the first time, it is an experience that now coerces me to have one of my own.  OOOOO! Baby!! It is another world as you stride all the leather and studs and white metal that surrounds you. Quite something!" he further wrote.  Meanwhile, age seems to be taking its toll on the 68-year-old. "Running at 70 is a bit of a bother! You feel you can move with some fluidity, but no! The legs do not respond to what the mind is telling it to do and you suddenly realize that the weight of your body is not that lithe anymore," he wrote. "So as I sit down on my 'blogespherechair' to fill in my adventures, I am cushioned with hot water bags and electronic heating devices to ease out the numerous folds of muscles, that had remained dormant and in retirement for a very long time," he added.

Priyanka openly bonding with dushman Bebo's boyfriend Saif

Priyanka Chopra drops in on the set of 'Agent Vinod' to meet Saif Priyanka Chopra is openly bonding with dushman Kareena Kapoor's boyfriend Saif Ali Khan and his business partner Dinesh Vijan. Bebo is obviously seeing red.  Says a source, "Saif has been shooting for his home production Agent Vinod all this week during the day at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon while Priyanka has been shooting nights for Karan Johar's Agneepath in Versova." Why so curious? Now, stars drop in to meet other stars they are friends with, when shooting in the same studio or in the vicinity. Interestingly, Priyanka and Saif, though socially cordial, are not friendly.  "And yet, PC, who was shooting for an ad film in the afternoon at Filmistan asked Dinesh to show her the Agent Vinod set, after her shoot was done. She went around, met everyone from Saif to the director Shriram Raghavan, chatted with them for half an hour and then left for her Agneepath shoot in Versova, " says the source. When Kareena heard this, she was furious. Says another source, "PC is curious about all things Bebo and keeps tabs by checking with common friends." As it turns out, one of the reasons the Kaminey couple Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka parted ways was because the latter felt that her guy wasn't as emotionally invested in the relationship as he was with Bebo. Getting even That said, getting friendly with Saif could be PC's way of getting even with the Golmaal 3 gal. What she doesn't realise is that the two are deeply committed to each other and have eyes only for each other. Naturally, people close to Kareena scoff at rumours suggesting she is upset with Piggy Chops for trying to bond with Saif.  According to them Kareena is merely amused at PC's attempts and ignores such things as she and Saif are confident in their love for each other. The Yash Chopra version: The royal couple romancing in the Swiss Alps. Cut to Mr Middleton saying Jaa puttar jaa.. jee le apni zindagi!!"  The Karan Johar version: Prince William steps out of a chopper and sprints towards Buckingham Palace! All of London (dressed in Manish Malhotra's saris) dances to Shava Shava!  The Bhansali version: Lavish sets, tacky wigs, heavily orchestrated songs and the colours black and blue!  The SOORAJ BARJATYA version: Queen Elizabeth plays the harmonium while Prince Harry breaks into a gig to Joote Do Paise Lo. The Ram Gopal Verma version: William kills Harry by chopping off his neck with a butcher's knife, for having a secretive affair with Kate and then does an item number with Priyanka Kothari and Urmila Matondkar!  The Ekta Kapoor version: William and Kate go for their honeymoon, but in their room looms the spirit of Diana!
